About Me

I'll tell you the story of how I became a writer. When I was a kid, all I wanted to be was an NFL quarterback or an NBA basketball player. When I got to college, I realized I wasn't going to be able to meet those goals, so I said to myself, "Being a writer would be pretty cool." And that's pretty much the story. 

I went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in English, a Master of Arts in English, and a PhD in English. Not bad for a kid that failed pre-college English my senior of high school. (I was too busy worried 'bout flingin' that pigskin and knockin' down them jumpers.)  

Reading is one of my favorite pastimes. Hemingway and Kerouac are my favorite writers, but I read a wide variety of things.  

I enjoy the challenge of writing books. The discipline it requires. The overcoming of obstacles, both internal and external. It gives me a way to do something productive and positive with my life.
